Men That Fall – the translucent edition
The glass curtain series of Men That Fall grew out of the idea to further sacralise the fall of man, revelation and the transience of life in general. Each piece consists of a grid of 4 x 5 inch glass plates treated with thermal photographic transfer. Each plate has been ”baked” in an oven and then attached together with cutup chain links.
Men That Fall (2004, 2006, 2010, and 2016) is a visual and responsive work that spans over several years and media. It depicts a free-falling masculinity and the repelling forces of bodies, with all their integrity, frailty, presence, and stiffness. The project consists of videos, photos and sculptures of nine sets of men.
Falling Man: Cousin Djani

Cousin Djani was a stone mason and a bon-vivant. A true artist in his own right. He became another falling man in our series, here in the form of a glass curtain sculpture.
Falling Man: Jeppe

We met Jeppe on Iceland when he take refuge from his work as a journalist in Denmark. He became another falling man in our series, here in the form of a glass curtain sculpture.
