Magasin 3 launches art apps

The release of the free art apps ”Call and Response” and ”Men That Fall” celebrates PERFORMANCEXHIBITION at Magasin 3 for which curator Richard Julin has invited a number of artists to produce work that lands somewhere between performance and exhibition. You can download the apps for free to your iPhone for the next two weeks.

Originally inspired by Susan Faludi’s “Stiffed: The Betrayal of the American Man”, Men That Fall by Performing Pictures, comments on the radical shift in traditional social values that have left men in a free fall. Performing Pictures consists of Geska Helena Brečević and Robert Brečević – a Stockholm-based artist duo working in the area of moving images and new technologies for media delivery. In their artistic practice, they aspire to create simple and straightforward tales that rely on silent action, a dramatic shift in posture, a certain gesture and a relation between one or several characters. Download the app for free here. Performing Pictures has also designed and programmed the app Call and Response by Eric Aalto, also known as Sir Eric Beyond. The app is an interactive video adaption of the art work ”The object is performance” made in connection to Erik Aalto’s exhibition ”Antidote” at Magasin 3. iPad versions will be available shortly!
